Adobe Premiere Pro is a powerful video editing tool that offers a wide range of features and tools for professional video editing. However, even with its advanced capabilities, navigating through the program can be time-consuming. This is why it’s important to learn keyboard shortcuts, which can help you work faster and more efficiently. In this blog, we’ll discuss some of the most commonly used Adobe Premiere Pro shortcuts for MacBook users.

  1. Command + N – New project: This keyboard shortcut allows you to create a new project quickly and easily. Simply press Command + N and a new project window will appear, allowing you to set up your project settings and start editing right away.

  2. Command + O – Open project: This keyboard shortcut is used to open an existing project. Simply press Command + O and select the project you wish to open from the file browser.

  3. Command + S – Save project: The Command + S shortcut allows you to save your project quickly and easily. This is particularly useful when you’re working on a large project and want to save your progress regularly.

  4. Command + Shift + S – Save As: This keyboard shortcut allows you to save your project under a different name. This is useful when you want to create a backup or a new version of your project.

  5. Command + W – Close project: This keyboard shortcut allows you to close a project quickly and easily. Simply press Command + W and the project will be closed.

  6. Command + Shift + W – Close all projects: This keyboard shortcut allows you to close all open projects at once. Simply press Command + Shift + W and all projects will be closed.

  7. Command + I – Import media: This keyboard shortcut allows you to import media into your project. Simply press Command + I and select the media you wish to import from the file browser.

  8. Command + Shift + I – Import as sequences: This keyboard shortcut allows you to import media into your project as a sequence. This is useful when you have multiple clips that you want to import and edit together.

  9. Command + K – Project settings: This keyboard shortcut opens the project settings window, allowing you to adjust your project settings and preferences.

  10. Command + / – Show/hide keyboard shortcuts: This keyboard shortcut allows you to show or hide the keyboard shortcuts window. This is useful when you’re trying to learn new shortcuts or reference existing ones.

  11. Command + T – New title: This keyboard shortcut allows you to create a new title quickly and easily. Simply press Command + T and a new title window will appear, allowing you to add text and other design elements to your title.

  12. Command + 0-9 – Switch between workspace panels: This keyboard shortcut allows you to switch between different panels in Premiere Pro’s interface. Simply press Command + the number of the panel you wish to switch to.

  13. Command + Shift + D – Duplicate selected clips: This keyboard shortcut allows you to duplicate the selected clips in your project. Simply press Command + Shift + D and the clips will be duplicated.

  14. Command + [ or ] – Move selected clip earlier or later in timeline: This keyboard shortcut allows you to move a selected clip earlier or later in your timeline. Simply press Command + [ to move the clip earlier or Command + ] to move the clip later.

  15. Command + Delete – Delete selected clips: This keyboard shortcut allows you to delete the selected clips in your project. Simply press Command + Delete and the clips will be deleted.
